Spark Youth Music

The Spark Youth Music band teaches children to learn musical instruments so that they could perform on stage in a professional gig.

The band performed on the 20th April 2024 at The Greig Hall in Alcester, each child took part in writing and recording an original song.

The original song, BFF DINNER, was recorded at Woodbine Recording Studio in Leamington on 12th May 2024. 

Each child prepared answers and took part in a radio interview and/or podcast talking about being in a band, promoting the band, original song and gig. The interview took place at Welcombe Radio in Stratford-upon-Avon, being interviewed by Chris Last for the New Music Show on 28th May 2024.

The band then prepared a performance to open the music bus at the school where local members of the community attended. This performance took place on 21st June 2024.

Each child showed a marked improvement in their own confidence, self esteem and mental health by the end of the experience. Testimonials from parents and teacher Dawn Sauvage confirm this.
