Leading with nurture and understanding has enabled our neurodiverse young people to form positive peer friendships

5 young people were involved in a  project lasting from June 2025 to May 2026 with sessions delivered every two weeks.

The groups are continuing and are regularly attended by 5 young people. The sessions have helped our young people meet new young people, and they have become friends with some additional funding secured allowing the continuation with these sessions.

“Young people have continued to talk to each other outside of the group and remained friends and their confidence has increased -  they attend regularly make craft items to take home, they chat and laugh and generally enjoy the time. Parents have given very positive feedback saying they look forward to the groups and behaviour is better. In summary this quote sums it all up - Watching our young people make friends and come out of their shell has been wonderful. The groups are full of laughter, smiles and new friends. Being part of the journey and watching young people develop is a truly magical experience.”
