Barbara O’Rourke Dance Festival

Warwickshire Crimebeat were pleased to support the Barbara O’Rourke Dance Festival, which took place in Leamington’s Royal Priors shopping centre.

The festival was organised as part of the initiative to launch a charitable foundation in recognition of the life’s work of local dance teacher Barbara O’Rourke. Barbara taught at the Oakley School of Dance and was passionate about giving young people the opportunity to dance.

The foundation has been set up in her memory to provide financial assistance to dance students to enable then to progress.

The dance group persevered through Covid to put on a magnificent show, proving the benefit of providing dance for young children. It was very well attended and was a joy to watch.
